Seven months after the start of the FOKUS Job & Work measure, especially for people with a migration background, the ISE Language and Vocational Training Center was able to present 17 participants with a certificate on July 10, 2017. The measure lasts from November 21st, 2016 to July 7th, 2017 and took place in the ISE premises at Kaiser-Ludwig-Ring 9 in Amberg.
Our goal was to provide qualifications in the following areas:
- Key qualifications for professional success
e.g.: Understand and reflect on the importance of teamwork and reliability in Germany; - Situation on the labor market and application training
get to know the regional and national labor market and its important players; Get to know the requirements of the labor market and assess your own situation; work trials; understand application documents; - Employment relationship: rights, obligations, legal regulations
understand employment contracts and references; Know and understand notice periods; - Job qualifications
Participants gain insight into the requirement profiles of various professions, particularly in the commercial, industrial and nursing sectors; - Communication skills at work
understand and use German at work; dealing correctly with employees, customers and superiors; plan and arrange appointments; written communication (e.g. complaints, orders…); - IT and internet training
Exercises in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; create application documents; Researching information on the Internet (e.g. to search for jobs);
The result of the good cooperation between ISE and the participants can be seen in the following figures:
- 11 participants were placed in employment subject to social insurance contributions,
- 3 participants can start training on September 1st, 2017
- 1 participant will learn the profession of “assistant for nutrition and care” at the vocational school in Sulzbach-Rosenberg
- 1 participant was able to complete his truck training at VAZ, Amberg
- 2 participants attend a language course
A personal strategy was developed for each participant to enable integration into the labor market. Their German, their professional communication and their basic knowledge were promoted, and various careers in the commercial, industrial and nursing sectors were introduced.
6 participants also took and passed the B1+ professional exam and also received a certificate for this.
